Registration fees:

Optional Pre-conference Workshops - $150.00 (except for iPad workshop)
Pre-conference workshops are held on Sunday, July 19, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at The Peabody Memphis. Lunch is included for both sessions at 12:00 p.m. Workshops are limited to the first 25 registrants.

 

  • "1:1 101" - $150.00 - CLOSED for Registration, at Capacity
    This in-depth workshop is intended for teachers (maximum of 25) who are new to teaching in a one-to-one classroom. Lead by a team of seasoned one-to-one teachers from a variety of grade levels and disciplines, this workshop will give you the framework you need to begin asking the right questions during the Laptop Institute. Attendees will be given practical advice, instruction, and techniques in a hands-on approach.
  • "One-to-One Planning Boot Camp"  - $150.00
    This high energy, intense and strangely fun session will cover all of the major areas of critical planning for a successful one-to-one program in one day. You will come away with plans, time lines, policies, work flow designs, lesson ideas and communication strategies. This is not for the faint of heart. Plenty of carbs should be consumed the day before this session!
  • "Tech Integrator Training from the Trenches"  - $150.00
    This entertaining and informative workshop will train new or experienced Technology Integrators about new tools and new ways to use them. You will learn creative ways to use basic tools, Web 2.0 tools and applications of these tools across all major curricular areas.

The Lausanne Laptop Institute has partnered with the Continuing Education Department at the University of Memphis. We will provide those who register and attend sessions the appropriate amount of CEU credits and documentation.

The teacher’s traditional role in the classroom as transmitter of knowledge is changing, and changing fast. As one-on-one laptop and tablet schools multiply, the teacher’s role will shift to that of coach and mentor.Adaptive learning, which customizes learning for each student’s individual needs and learning styles, is a hallmark of the 21st Century School. ISM is spearing heading the discussion of the 21st Century School concept from the private-independent school perspective.

The Symposium faculty include: Pamela Livingston, Director of Information Technology at TEAM Charter Schools (NJ); Dr. Shabbi Luthra, Director of Technology at the American School of Bombay; Josh Clark, Assistant Head of Middle School and Pre-IB Coordinator at Lausanne Collegiate School (TN); and Kim Davis, Director of Student Life, IN CAS Coordinator and Ancient World History teacher at Lausanne Collegiate School (TN); Simon Jeynes, ISM Consultant.
